Who are we and what do we do?

Interestingly when I am at a barbie or a dinner party and people ask what do you do, my response usually raises a few eyebrows! I run a pet resort.

I have loved animals for as long as I can remember, from my first pet - a corgi called 'Chelsea' to the many cows I named on our family farm, the sheep dogs, the mouse catchers (aka cats) and now my beloved blue staffy 'Busta' and big ball of fluff - 'General' the Domestic Long Haired Cat.
In 2006 the opportunity arose to take over the 'kennel' at Acacia Ridge and through a series of 'I'll tell you over a cuppa' events here we are 6 years later!

The kennels and cattery were a bit sad and sorry when we took over, they needed some TLC - we have certainly given them that with makeovers in every respect, from a lick of paint here and there to full on construction of two impressive exercise yards for dogs, a cat playground, 5 luxury suites complete with air conditioners and televisions and of course the office gotta a little tweak (not that that's the important bit!) The cats and dogs have all raved over the improvements, well I'm assuming that's what all the barks and meows are about when I visit for a cuddle!

I'm a chatterbox and always have a funny story to tell about work, when you're dealing with animals and people everyday there's always something to giggle about, which makes it such a fun place to be.

Ned the burmese cat was a hilarious guest who as you would gentle scratch his back above his tail would lick you like he was posessed, thankyou thankyou thankyou he would purr.... seriously Ned.... it would have been an M15+ youtube clip!

I hope you enjoy the funny stories, the pics etc as I share life running a 'boarding kennel' but we're much much more than that, we love pets, we want people to enjoy their holiday knowing they have left their pet with us, we guarantee your pet will have a great holiday, maybe just maybe it will be better than yours!
